meet the authors of this website

Hey there! I’m Eldrick (although people mainly know me as “calculus gaming”), and I’m here to help you succeed in this new calculus class you just joined. I’m such a big fan of calculus that I’ve made an entire website (not this one) explaining everything in the AP Calculus BC curriculum (more on that later).

Hello! I’m Deb, the other author of this website! I started the website mostly because the class moves really quickly, and I thought I could try and help my classmates by explaining some of the concepts in greater detail (and in simpler terms) through a website such as this one. I hope you find these explanations useful :)

Note: Even though Deb says she’s the “other author” of this website, she’s actually the one who started it, so she deserves more credit.

this class is probably not what you expected

I’m not sure what your expectations for this class are, but if you’re like me (and frankly, most of us in this class), you probably expect an introductory calculus class where you learn about limits, derivatives, and integrals, the fundamental topics of every calculus class.

Well, you are going to learn about these, but since this is an honors class, you’re also going to learn about A LOT more than this! This is nothing like your typical calculus course. In fact, we were all overwhelmed by the amount of content in this class, so be warned, this is not going to be easy.

That’s what this website is for! I’m a big math nerd and fan of calculus, and even then, entering this class knowing all of AP Calculus BC, I still found many of the topics difficult to understand at first. I really want to help future students in this class comprehend all the crazy stuff in this course, so I have a bunch of explanations for the tougher content you’ll learn over the next semester.

what to know before starting this course

Despite this being a “Calculus 1” course, the class mostly skips over basic calculus concepts, expecting you to already know them! Here’s a general idea of what you should know:

help me! i don’t know calculus yet!! (or i desperately need to review)

Don’t worry, because I have some resources that can help you!
